After working as a salesman for some years in Kattapana, santosh Madhavan began assisting a priest in a temple located in Kaloor at the age of eighteen . Under the guidance of Swami Chaitanya, Santosh Madhavan established an ashram known as Santithiram where he purported to impart spiritual wisdom to his followers. His charismatic persona and claims of divine insight attracted a considerable following, despite the controversies that would later engulf him.
Madhavan’s descent into infamy began with accusations of fraud. Interpol had been pursuing him since 2004 for fraudulent activities in the United Arab Emirates where he allegedly swindled a Dubai-based Indian woman named Serafin Edwin, of a significant sum of money in 2002. In 2008, he was apprehended near Kochi for his fraudulent schemes.
The allegations against Madhavan escalated beyond financial crimes. Shocking revelations emerged of his involvement in production of p*rnography featuring underage girls at a children’s home operated by his trust, Santhitheeram. These heinous acts led to his conviction and subsequent sentencing to sixteen years in prison in May 2009.
