Following the footsteps of his brother, Gnanankith J A, a student who hailed from Mysuru is set out with a goal for securing a seat at the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) presently in 2022 after becoming the 2023 SC CLAT Topper
With his grit and hard work, Gnanankith J.A ended up securing first rank in the country under the Scheduled Caste section in the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), which is conducted by the Consortium of National Law Universities.

“I had not expected to get rank as high as this. I literally have no words to express how I am feeling. I am really thankful to my mother who supported me in each and every phase of my life step of the way and my brother (who studies at NLU Jodhpur) for his guidance. Moreover, I had not begun preparing for the exam in a very serious manner until December, after that, my teachers at the coaching institute helped me out greatly,” Gnanankith stated.
Gnanankith J.A added that he has chosen to pursue law as it will help out him contribute to society in an informed manner. “Despite this, if I decide to write the UPSC exams, studying law would be very much helpful.”
The CLAT results were declared on Friday evening and toppers are elated that their months of hard work have finally borne fruit. All the top rank holders who are spoken would be joining NLSIU, Bengaluru, as it had always been their first choice. However, several of them had first considered an engineering career before switching their focus to law.
Other CLAT Selections
Other students from the State secured high rankings this year, including students Sanjana S. Rao who has secured an All India Ranking (AIR) of 7, and Shivaraman Raghuraman who secured an AIR of 12.
Sanjana and Shivaraman both believe that consistency is key to clear the CLAT exam and they kept up with current affairs and general knowledge on the daily basis. “I used to study 4 to t hours a day. I have never pulled any all-nighters,” Shivaraman stated.
Aumita Mishra, AIR 14, and Prem Vinod Parwani scored AIR 16, on the other hand, believed in a strict schedule and specific goals.
