In 1996, she received her degree from the Amerigo Vespucci Institute. She also stated that she graduated from the Amerigo Vespucci Institute of Rome with a high school certificate in languages.
Andrea Giambruno, a journalist who works for Silvio Berlusconi’s Mediaset TV station, is her lover and the father of her daughter Ginevra.

Giorgia Meloni started her political career when she was in college.
In 1992, Meloni joined the Youth Front, a neo-fascist political organization that is the youth branch of the Italian Social Movement (MSI), a far-right political party. Later, she rose to the position of national head of Student Action, the MSI’s legal successor, and the student movement.
She served as a Rome Province councilor from 1998 until 2002, at which point she was elected president of AN’s Youth Action. In the Berlusconi IV Cabinet, she was named Minister of Youth in 2008. She co-founded Brothers of Italy (FdI) in 2012 and was named the organization’s president in 2014.
She participated in the Italian election for the European Parliament in 2014. However, she was unable to succeed.
She headed FdI for the whole 18th Italian legislative session in opposition following the 2018 general election in Italy. She opposes the term “far right,” yet her political views have been characterized as right-wing populist and Italian nationalist.
She has faced accusations of racism and Islamophobia for being against the acceptance of non-European immigrants and multiculturalism. She has stated controversial opinions, such as endorsing Nazi collaborator and MSI co-founder Giorgio Almirante in 2020 and Italian dictator Benito Mussolini in 1996.
