Julian Weber is a German track and field athlete who was born on August 29, 1994, in Mainz, Germany. Weber is currently 29 years old and competes in the javelin throw event. He has previously won the European Junior Championship back in 2013. Weber has remained consistent at the top level over the past few years and his personal best record stands at 89.54 m, set in 2022.

Julian Weber is a member of the USC Mainz club and trains under coach Stephan Kallenberg. Under his coach Stephan Kallenberg, Weber has developed rapidly as a top-class thrower.

Despite showing early promise as a thrower, Julian Weber dropped athletics to concentrate on handball. However, he returned to the javelin just four years later, and immediately qualified for the 2011 German youth championships. He eventually quit handball following a self-injury during a game back in 2012. Weber won the 2013 European Junior Championships in Rieti with a throw of 79.68 m. Weber then broke the 80 meters mark for the first time in 2014 (80.72 m), and won a silver in the 2014 national championships that year.
The following year, in 2015 Julian Weber improved his personal best to 81.15 m, placing fifth at the European U23 Championships in Tallinn. Weber then threw an impressive 83.79 min 2016 to win silver at the national championships. He went on to break his personal best twice that same year with throws of 84.45 m and 86.83 m at the Paavo Nurmi Games in Turk.
Just a week and a half later Weber threw an impressive 88.04 m in Offenburg, placing him at fourth on the 2016 world rankings list. As a result, he got selected to represent Germany at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. However, he failed to deliver any medals. Julian Weber finally won his first gold at the senior international level at the European Championships in 2022 in Munich. That same year, he set his career best of 89.54m.
The next year, he won another gold medal in the 2023 European Games in Kraków, Małopolska. Earlier this year, he won the silver medal in the 2024 European Championships in Rome. He is now competing at the Paris 2024 Olympics Men’s Javelin Throw event. Julian started off strong topping group A of the qualifications round with a throw of 87.76m.
