In her youth, she was earmarked for the British Junior Team and marked her five-star inauguration in 2009. Following this milestone, she continued to fly the flag for Team GB in multiple Nations Cup showdowns.
Georgie Campbell’s Horse
Global Quest, an 11-year-old horse, has competed with Georgie throughout her eventing career. The horse advanced to the four-star level in 2022, and that same year, the pair won the CCI4*-L at Lignières in France.
Her horse, Global Quest, was examined after the incident and was found to be uninjured.
British Eventing Release Statement
British Eventing expressed profound sorrow in a statement, stating, “We deeply regret to announce the tragic incident involving Georgie Campbell (GBR) during the Bicton International Horse Trials in Devon, England, on Sunday.
“Medical professionals swiftly responded to her fall at fence 5b, but regrettably, she could not be revived. Fortunately, the horse, Global Quest, was examined by on-site veterinarians and returned to the stables unharmed.
“Out of respect for the family’s privacy during this profoundly distressing period, no additional information will be disclosed.”
The South Western Ambulance Service responded swiftly, deploying both ground and air ambulances, but despite their best efforts, Campbell could not be saved.
In an interview last year, Campbell recounted her victory at the 4* Long in Ligniers in 2022 with Global Quest, describing it as a “career highlight.”
