The Dallas Cowboys announced on Friday that Brian Schottenheimer has been hired as their new head coach. Now his fans are curious to know about his wife Gemmi Schottenheimer.

Prior to taking over as offensive coordinator in 2023, the 51-year-old joined Dallas as an analyst and has been there for the past three seasons. Mike McCarthy led the Cowboys for five seasons before he and the team parted ways earlier this month.

McCarthy, who was in the last year of his contract, finished the previous season with a 7-10 record and only two home victories, failing to lead the team to a postseason berth.

Throughout the hectic life of coaching, Brian has had Gemmi Schottenheimer as his partner. On June 29, 2002, the pair tied the knot. They have already been together for over 20 years. While Gemmi’s DOB isn’t known, she is aged between 45-55 years while her husband Brian is aged 51 and has a net worth of $10 million.

Either team moves or the difficulties of employment insecurity, she has witnessed everything alongside her husband. The Cowboys took over Brian’s career when he left the Jets. And Gemmi continued to be his rock by gracefully handling their family life.

In reality, however, she became acquainted with his father prior to meeting him. When Gemmi was employed by the Redskins, the team’s veteran coach Marty Schottenheimer served as temporary head coach.

In a podcast with Stacey Bell last September, Gemmi told the story. When Marty was given an Alzheimer’s diagnosis in 2016, Gemmi supported Brian. She guided the family through this devastating period. At that time, it was more than simply football. It was about supporting Brian and the children.

Gemmi worked for the Redskins, where legendary coach Marty Schottenheimer was the interim HC at the time and had said in a podcast with Stacey Bell, “I had not met Brian at that point,“ Gemmi said. “I sort of became an assistant to him [Marty] while he was trying to find one. I was on his voicemail. I did all these things and just sort of had an opportunity to watch him lead without being in the family or dating Brian.“

Marty passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021 in Charlotte, NC and had been battling Alzheimer’s for several years and was moved to hospice.

Schottenheimer is survived by his wife, Pat,; his children Kristen and Brian and his daughter-in-law, Gemmi; and grandchildren Brandon, Sutton, Savannah and Catherine.

Gemini is also involved in Brian’s role on the field with him revealing she used to often question his calls and plays during his time at the Seahawks.

“She’s very critical, I’ll be honest with you,” Brian had said. “I get in the car and I’m like, ‘Can I just relax for a few minutes?’
