So many explanations have been stated on social media after Shakira announced her breakup from Gerard Pique after 12 years together.
The girlfriend of Colombian Riqui Puig has been identified by the Spanish media as a possible cause of the Colombian and Piqué’s breakup.
“She is a friend of Riqui Puig’s girlfriend [Gemma Iglesias], who we think was the one who introduced them,” El Periodico says.
According to the media source, Puig, 22, has grown closer to the footballer in recent months, which is how his crush on his girlfriend’s friend arose.

Rique Puig, one of Gerald Pique’s teammates, is Iglesias’ girlfriend. The footballer has been with a “22-year-old blonde, who is studying and works as an event hostess in Barcelona,” according to journalist Emilio Perez Rozas of El Periodico.
This blonde is a friend of Iglesias, and Iglesias was the reason the two met. El Periodico reports, “She is a friend of Rique Puig’s girlfriend, who we presume was the one who introduced them.” So, if the reports about Pique and the blonde woman are accurate, Iglesias has something to do with it.

Puig, who was born in Matadepera, Barcelona, Catalonia, joined FC Barcelona’s La Masia in 2013, having previously played for UFB Jàbac Terrassa. After rising through the junior system, he made his senior debut with the reserves on February 24, 2018, replacing Marcus McGuane in the second half of a 1–1 home draw against Gimnàstic Tarragona in the Segunda División tournament.
Puig’s contract with Barça was extended until 2021 on June 11, 2018, and he was promoted to the Segunda División B’s B-team.
