Indian journalist and human rights activist Gautam Navlakha, 70-year-old was the secretary of the People’s Union for Democratic Rights (PUDR) as well as the leader of the International People’s Tribunal on Human Rights and Justice in Kashmir. Navlakha is a Gwalior-born civil rights activist and an active member of the People’s Union of Democratic Rights (PUDR).
Gautam Navlakha’s partner is Sahba Husain with both in a live in relationship. She’s aged 70 as well and both have children from their first marriage. Trained in economics and political science in Mumbai, Navlakha worked with the digital newsportal Newsclick before his arrest.
Recently, he has focused on working in the parts of Chhattisgarh that are controlled by the Maoists. He has also done work there. In a statement, he said, “A referendum is a peaceful and democratic way to deal with problems that are hard to solve,” and he agreed with Prashant Bhushan’s idea that a vote should be held on the issue of demilitarising Kashmir.

His Relation With The Bhima Koregaon Riots Of 2018
Navalakha is a person of interest in the Bhima Koregaon riots of 2018. On April 8, 2020, the Supreme Court turned down Navlakha and Anand Teltumbde’s request for anticipatory release in a case involving alleged Maoist ties to Elgar Parishad under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
They were told to go to the National Investigation Agency on April 14. The National Investigation Agency said in the chargesheet that Navlakha met with Syed Ghulam Nabi Fai more than once to “unite the intellectuals against government forces to beat them physically and in other ways.”
