On Thursday, the ED questioned Gangadhar Samal, a businessman and the brother of Dhenkanal MLA and BJD leader Sudhir Samal, regarding the alleged transfer of a sizable sum of money to Nag’s account. The ED has filed a case on accusations of significant sums of money being laundered.

Who Is Gangadhar Samal?
Gangadhar Samal is a well-known businessman from Odisha, India. He has been in the news because Enforcement Directorate (ED) recently summoned him for his involvement in the alleged sex and extortion scandal surrounding Archana Nag.
He is the managing director of the Empreo Prestige Jaguar Land Rover shop in Pratap Nagari, Cuttack. He is also the sibling of Sudhir Kumar Samal, a BJD MLA from Dhenkanal.
Why Was He Arrested?
Archana Nag is accused of being the head of a scheme to extort money from authorities, businesses, and politicians. She was detained on October 6, and she is also accused of pushing women into prostitution and then using them to blackmail influential persons.
On October 22, Jagabandhu Chand, Nag’s husband, was also detained for his apparent involvement in the controversy.
After being questioned by the ED for 12 hours, Gangadhar Samal stated that Nag’s husband had first reserved a car from his shop but then cancelled it and reimbursed him almost Rs. 35.11 lakh through check. He also denied that his brother was involved in the deal in any way.
Shradhanjali Behera, Archana’s assistant and one of the defendants in the money laundering case, was interrogated by ED agents yesterday for almost 14 hours in connection with a honeytrap and blackmailing case involving Archana Nag.
