According to the various reports, the cops located Gabriel Davies on Thursday night, Sept 1, and arrested him under the charges of second degree murder, first degree burglary and first degree unlawful possession of a firearm.
The 16-year-old football player is currently in Pierce County Juvenile Detention Center along with another teenager, who is also arrested under the same charges.
A spokesperson of the Sheriff’s Department, Sgt Darren Moss revealed that, during the investigation, the authorities found out that Davies and the dead man had a long-lost connection.
According to a report by the New Tribune, the teen’s mother and the dead man were involved romantically and were a couple and had the trio live together for several years at a house where the old man was found dead.
As per the Sheriff’s department spokeswoman, the deputies found out the remains of the old man on Thursday morning, Sept 1, in response to a requested welfare check from his place of work.
The deputies responded to the 21900 block of 190th Street E in Orting after the old man, who’s still formally not identified, did not return to his work for 4 days.
The cops found the old man dead from an apparent gunshot wound. However, they didn’t find any weapons at the crime scene. The victim had been dead at least 24 hours prior to the discovery of his body.
In a statement, PCSD has said that the evidence found at the scene has directly linked the 2 teenagers with the death of the old man, however they didn’t reveal what kind of evidence they were talking about.
In a statement, the spokesperson Moss said, “Our detectives did a lot of work finding evidence at the scene as well as talking to other people and just developing good probable cause to find a connection between the suspects and the victim.”
A neighbour, Sharon Kisinger, who’s been living on the street for approximately 25 years said, “Shocked, not expecting anything like that around here.”
