A French extreme sports enthusiast died after falling from the 68th story of a residential building in Hong Kong. Lucidi is also known as Remi Enigma by his online fans. He was declared dead at the scene.
Remi Lucidi: Who Was He?
The 30-year-old, Remi Lucidi, reportedly collapsed while scaling the Tregunter Tower complex, according to The South China Morning Post. The officials pronounced the athlete dead on the spot.
According to Hong Kong authorities, Lucidi reportedly entered the building at 6 p.m. and told the security guard that he was going to visit a friend who lives on the 40th level.
A security guard tried to catch hold of Lucidi after the alleged friend confirmed that he didn’t know who Lucidi was. However, by that time, Lucidi had already gotten a lift. Security footage afterwards captured Lucidi entering the building from the 49th floor and once more climbing the stairs to the top of the tower.
Those looking for Lucidi reported that the roof hatch was open, but he was nowhere to be seen.
As per the officials, the man was last seen alive at 7:38 p.m. when he tapped on the glass of the penthouse building, causing a maid to call 911.
Remi Lucidi Stayed In The Hostel
As per the report, he was checked into a hostel. Its owner, Gurjit Kaur said that Lucidi was a friendly and humble guy. She said that he had a pleasant face and was in good health. On hearing the news of his demise, Kaur expressed her grief.
An employee at the hostel asserted that he had spoken with Lucidi numerous times prior to his passing. The employee confirmed that Lucidi informed him that he was taking a holiday in Hong Kong.
He said, “I asked him where he was going, and he said he was going to trek up a mountain.” He further added that he wanted to hike frequently during his stay here.
Many of Lucidi’s followers posted their condolences on social media.
