The season 20 finale of Grey’s Anatomy concluded with a heartfelt remembrance of Freddy Klein who was a cherished part of the Grey family.

A tribute to Freddy Klein was presented to viewers of Grey’s Anatomy Season 20, episode 10, prior to the credits rolling.

Freddy Klein was Linda Klein’s brother. Linda has produced and directed multiple episodes of Grey’s Anatomy over the course of a long career. This memorial acted as a testament to Klein, whose extended family has been a part of the Grey’s brand since the show’s inception. Klein passed away in early March.

Linda Klein paid tribute to her brother on March 17, 2024 by posting on Facebook that he had passed away peacefully in his sleep a few days before.

She shared a sequence of pictures of him and thanked everyone for being his friends and for letting him enjoy life. She highlighted that her brother would bring life, love, and laughter into any space. He had a wonderful personality, a passion for music, and a manner of constantly making others happy.

She further wrote, “My family and I will always Cherish the memories of his beautiful spirit and the happiness he spread wherever he went. We love you and you will be missed!!!”

A few creatives from Grey’s Anatomy expressed their sympathy to the Klein family on their loss.

Kevin McKidd wrote, “We love you, Linda,” in response to Linda Klein’s Instagram post honouring her brother. Ebony Washington, a production assistant on Grey’s Anatomy, replied, “Sending you love.”

Linda thanked her Instagram fans for their love and sympathy in a second post. She mentioned that she is grateful to everyone who supported and cared for my brother.

“Your kind and beautiful words are bringing me joy in these very hard days especially knowing how many lives he touched with his smile laughter quick wit kindness and love. THANK YOU,” she wrote.

Since the first season of Grey’s Anatomy aired in 2005, Linda Klein has worked as a producer, medical adviser, technician, and advisor. In addition, she has directed a number of episodes and appeared in several episodes from Seasons 1 through 19 as scrub nurse Linda.

Linda, a real-life registered nurse, has portrayed nurses in recurrent roles on several television shows, including Chicago Hope, 24, Boston Public, JAG, Monk, Doogie Howser, MD, and Six Feet Under, in addition to Grey’s Anatomy.
