Who is Franco Mastantuono?
Franco Mastantuono is an Argentine football player who was born on August 14, 2007 in Azul, Province of Buenos Aire, Argentina. The 16-year-old stands 1.80 m (5 ft 11 in) tall.
A look at Franco Mastantuono’s career so far
Along with playing football, Franco Mastantuono ever since he was three, he was also interested in playing tennis. He was a national-level youth player when he was a child, however, his father’s background exposed the youngster towards football. His father was the coach of River de Azul, where he started playing football at the age of three.
When he was still with River de Azul in 2017, he received an offer to try out for the professional team River Plate as well as a seat in the academy. His family, however, encouraged him to continue playing tennis, thus he declined the chance.
Instead, at the age of eleven, he sealed a deal with Club Cemento. He decided to take River Plate’s offer and go to the Buenos Aires-based team two years later, in 2019. In the squad’s season-ending game, he made his debut for the youth team, helping them win their respective league.
Franco’s season was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic in Argentina when he participated AFA tournaments the next year. As he advanced through the River Plate academy’s ranks, he signed his first professional deal with the team in August 2023. It was a two-year deal with a โฌ30 million release clause.
Talking about his international career, he has featured for U-17 and U-20 squads for Argentina.
