Malick Junior Yalcouyé is a Malian footballer who was born on November 25, 2005 in Bandiagara, Mali. He currently plays as a central midfielder for Swedish club IFK Göteborg. The young midfielder grew up in the Ivory Coast and came through the academy at Center De Formation Etoiles De Sahel Abobo. He eventually joined ASEC Mimosas and made his debut in the CAF Champions League for the club in August 2023.
After playing there for a season, the 18-year-old joined Swedish side Goteborg earlier this year in January 2024. Ever since his arrival, Yalcouye has been nothing short of extraordinary, making his debut in February 2024 against Nordic United. He scored his first league goal against IF Brommapojkarna for the club around the end of April 2024.
While Goteborg had a forgettable season finishing 13th in the league, Yalcouye had a brilliant season. Despite having scored just once in 14 appearances, he dictated the tempo of most matches he played in and broke through during their first team after initially arriving on a reserve team role.
