The first virtual rapper in the world to sign a significant deal with a record company is FN Meka. Anthony Martini and Brandon Le, co-founders of the virtual label Factory New, are the minds behind the AI robot rapper.
In an interview with MBW in April 2021, Anthony provided additional information about the performer and stated: “FN Meka is technically voiced by a human. “However, as you’ll discover here, everything else about him is based on AI, from his lyrics to the chords and rhythms that underpin his music.”
Florida Water, Meka’s first song with Capitol Records, is a collaboration with rapper Gunna and expert Fortnite player Clix. The song was made available on August 12, 2022.
Who is FN MEKA?
TikTok star Meka has 10.3 million followers as of this writing, making him one of the most well-liked stars on TikTok. He was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, and made his debut internet appearance in April 2019.
Meka had a number of rap songs released before signing with Capitol Records, including Moonwalkin’, Speed Demon, and the Internet. However, the online rapper and influencer sell non-fungible tokens that are advertised in many of his TikTok videos in addition to making music.

Meka’s TikTok profile shows him in a variety of indoor and outdoor locations as he participates in online challenges and teams up with other online celebrities. Meka is referred to as a “robot rapper not accepted by this world” in his brief and snappy internet bio. His Instagram profile can be viewed here.
The rapper has 213,000 followers on Instagram, despite the fact that his profile is currently set to private.
The Music Deal In More Detail
According to Capitol Records, Meka is the “first AR artist” in the world to sign a deal with a major record label, as noted by Music Business Worldwide. “It meets at the convergence of music, technology, and gaming culture,” said Ryan Ruden, Executive Vice President of Experiential Marketing & Business Development at Capitol Music Group, to the publication. It’s merely a sneak peek at what’s to come.
Ruden continued, “this most recent initiative with FN Meka and Clix is merely an outgrowth of Capitol Records’ 80-year history of innovation.”
