Spanish football star Felix Garreta is in an induced coma in an intensive care unit of a hospital after suffering head injuries in a domestic accident. 

The 20-year-old centre back, who is playing for SD Amorebieta in the second division, is on loan from Real Betis in Seville, Spain. The club said in a statement on Thursday that he had fallen and suffered a traumatic brain injury.

It has been said that the young player did hurt himself when he lost consciousness during a sudden dizzy spell when he was relaxing in his hometown of Palau-solita i Plegamans, near Barcelona. 

Meanwhile, SD Amorebieta was thinking about requesting a postponement, but on Sunday it will take on Villarreal B.

Felix Garreta is a Spanish football player who was born on April 21, 2004 in Palau-solita i Plegamans, Spain. The 20-year-old stands 1.83 m (6 ft 0 in) tall. 

A look at Felix Garreta’s career so far

Felix Garreta is a centre back on loan from Real Betis of La Liga to SD Amorebieta of the Segunda Division. He is a young product of Real Betis, CF Damm, RCD Espanyol, and Palau-solita i Plegamans.

On September 28, 2022, he inked a professional deal with the club which would last until 2026. The rising star began his senior career with the reserves in 2021.

On December 29, 2022, the Spaniard made his debut for the team and La Liga with Betis by starting in a 0-0 home tie against Athletic Bilbao. On July 4, 2023, the player was loaned to SD Amorebieta in Segunda Division for the balance of the campaign.

Garreta wanted to get back to Seville this summer so he could prepare for the next campaign. In addition, he hoped to be called up to the Spanish U23 team for the Paris Olympic Games. In his 33 appearances for SD Amorebieta this season, he has four goals.
