Stewards discovered, however, that his car’s left undertray front exterior strake was lower than the legally mandated minimum height after conducting a post-qualifying examination. Consequently, all of Maini’s times from the qualifying session have been eliminated, giving Bortoleto the pole.

A look at Kush Maini’s career so far
Kush’s father gifted him an electric car, which ignited his passion for motorsport. When Maini was five years old, he got his first go-kartโan 80cc Comer Car.
In the 2023 season, Kush drove for Campos Racing. Prior to this, he participated in Formula 4, Formula Renault Eurocup, FIA Formula 3, BRDC British Formula 3 Championship, FIA World Endurance Championship, and Formula 4.
He drives as a reserve driver for Mahindra Racing in Formula E and is a member of the Alpine Academy. Last year, he moved up to F2, where he finished the season in eleventh place. But in his debut season, he displayed some excellent speed, even taking home his first podium at the Australian GP sprint race.
Both of the big manufacturers have also backed the Indian. Along with being named Mahindra Racing’s new Formula E reserve driver, he is now a member of the Alpine F1 team’s young driver programme.

Kush Maini, not the only driver in his family
Kush is the younger brother of racing driver Arjun Maini, who participated in Formula 2 and GP3. His father’s name is Gautam Maini who participated in racing at the Formula India Single Seater Maruti Engine National Racing Championship in the late 1990s. He is also the nephew of Indian business magnate Chetan Maini.
