Reactions to the video
The video has generated online debates because Johnny Somali has lately come under increasing fire for his contentious views. His latest performance of a grotesque dance in front of Seoul’s Statue of Peace, a monument to victims of wartime sexual enslavement, further stoked popular outrage. He was well-known for acts considered unpleasant during his time in South Korea.
Somali says his account was hacked, but his YouTube channel was removed earlier this week for reportedly airing inappropriate content.
Somali has experienced confrontations as the backlash persists, including being hit during a livestream on October 24 and being attacked once more during a broadcast featuring Yoo Heon-jong, a contentious character in American internet groups. Somali is frequently referred to as the “golden goblin” in South Korea, and his presence has generated a lot of social media activity.

As a tourist visiting several nations, especially Japan, Thailand, and Israel, Ismael aka Johnny Somali primarily broadcasts himself on video streaming websites like YouTube and Kick. In May 2023, he started streaming.
He transferred to Kick after getting banned from Twitch, however Kick temporarily suspended him. He tried in vain to convince Twitch to lift his suspension after he was banned on Kick in May 2024. Right now, he streams on Rumble. Ismael made derogatory remarks about Japanese people while he was in Japan that contain remarks regarding the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki
