Sad news hit the NFL World after Vontae Davis’ passing was announced but a cause of death isn’t known yet
Vontae Davis, a former cornerback for the Miami Dolphins and the Indianapolis Colts, was discovered dead in his South Florida home on Monday, although authorities do not suspect foul play.
While they were called to a medical emergency at Davis’ house on Monday morning, according to police in the Fort Lauderdale suburb of Davie, the 35-year-old man had already passed away. Fans and franchises all around the NFL fraternity are mourning over his death.

Who was Vontae Davis?
Vontae Ottis Davis was an American professional football player who was a cornerback for the NFL’s Miami Dolphins, Indianapolis Colts, and Buffalo Bills.
The late 5 ft 11 in (1.80 m) cornerback was born on May 27, 1988 in Southwest Ranches, Florida, U.S and died at 35 on in Southwest Ranches, Florida, U.S on April 1, 2024. An autopsy is still waiting before the reason of death is disclosed.
A look at Vontae Davis’ career
Davis ran track and played football at Washington, D.C.’s Dunbar High School. In football, he was a wide receiver and cornerback. During his collegiate career, he selected Illinois over Virginia, Maryland, and Michigan State. He declared following his junior season that he will forgo his senior year and be eligible for the 2009 NFL draft.
Davis spent 10 seasons in the NFL after being chosen by the Dolphins with the 25th overall choice in 2009 out of Illinois. He played for Miami for three seasons before being traded to Indianapolis prior to the 2012 campaign. He spent six seasons as a player for the Colts.
During the second half of the Bills’ 2018 season, in the midst of their game, Davis abruptly announced his retirement from the NFL.
