Judy Coughlin, the wife of Tom Coughlin, has passed away at the age of 77.

The tragic news of her demise was confirmed by Tom himself in a statement with NY post, where he stated, “My cherished wife and our beloved mother and grandmother, Judy Whitaker Coughlin, passed away this morning at the age of 77.”
The inaugural head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars, further added, “Judy was a remarkable woman in every way. She lived a life filled with love and unselfishly gave her heart and soul to others.”
As per reports, Just was suffering from a rare brain disease known as progressive supranuclear palsy. It’s a rare disease which prohibits the person’s movement, balance, and even creates problems in speaking, vision etc.
Judy was reportedly admitted to Atlantic Beach hospice care in Jacksonville.
Who’s Tom Coughlin
For those who are unfamiliar, let us tell you, Tom Coughlin, who is the former head coach and NFL executive was born in Waterloo, New York on August 31, 1946.
He started his career in football when he started playing in High school. During his high school days, he played against Jim Boeheim.
During that game, Jim played for Lyons High School. After completing high school, Tom went to attend Syracuse University when assistant coach Jim Shreve offered him a scholarship.
At the time he became the teammate of legendary Hall of famers Larry Csonka and Floyd Little.
Tom got his first coaching job at Rochester Institute in 1970. Where he coached for around 3 years.
Later, he returned to his home country and started his stint in 1974 which he did till 1980. Though he called it quits too and went on to join the NFL where he became the coach of Philadelphia Eagles.
Later, he coached the Green Bay Packers and eventually the New York Giants. He joined Giant’s in 2022 and coached them till 2015.
Aside from coaching, he also served as the administrator in college football on several occasions.
The legendary professional footballer married Judy Coughlin in 1967. The couple shared 4 children, 2 daughters Keli and Katie and 2 sons, Brain and Tim.
Coming back to Judy, she was diagnosed with a rare neurological disease back in 2021 and passed away on November 2, 2022. Tom’s net worth stands at $17 million.
