Ethan Chaplin Murder, Four University of Idaho students were found dead in an off-campus apartment over the weekend
It is thought that they were killed. This has shocked the community. On Monday, November 14, the Moscow Police Department told the public who all the victims were.
They were Ethan Chapin, Xana Kernodle, Madison Mogen, and Kaylee Goncalves, all of whom were 21 years old. Even though police are looking for the killer, they haven’t said much about how the four students died or what the killer may have been trying to do.

The New York Post reported that a press release from the police said, “At the moment, no one is in custody. Based on what they learned during the preliminary investigation, the Moscow Police do not think there is an ongoing risk to the community.” Also, the mayor of Moscow, Art Bettge, said, “It’s very hard to deal with a crime of this size. Overall, it’s been judged to be a crime of passion.”

One of the four people killed was named Ethan Chapin, and it was said that he was from Conway, Washington. He was friends with Mogen and Goncalves, and he was dating Kernodle, according to the New York Post. “Happiest of birthdays to @ethanchapin4 life is so much better with you in it, love you!” said an Instagram post from Kernodle’s account.
People have also said that the young man was in his first year of college. He was also a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity, and people in his town seemed to like him. Chapin was a triplet with a sister and a brother. When they were young, all three of them went to the Conway School before going to Mount Vernon High School. Hunter Chapin, who also went to school in Idaho, posted a picture of him and his best friend with the words “My brother and my best friend.”
