A Ganeshamurthi, a prominent MDMK leader and MP from Erode, passed away early this morning at a private Coimbatore hospital.
Following an alleged suicide attempt on Sunday, the 76-year-old politician was taken to a hospital in Erode in severe condition and subsequently transferred to a private facility in Coimbatore.

His full name is Avinashi Ganeshamurthi. He was born on 10 June 1947 in Ulgapuram, Erode, Madras Presidency, British India.
A Ganeshamurthi was married to Balamani.
He died on 28 March 2024 in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. At the time of his death, he was 76 years old.

His career
A Ganeshamurthi was a well-known political figure in Tamil Nadu and was associated with Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK). Renowned for his steadfast dedication to public service, Ganeshamurthi represented Erode in the Lok Sabha as an elected MP.
Prior to his tenure in the 17th Lok Sabha, he had previously served as a Member of Parliament during the 12th and 13th Lok Sabhas.
