Erin Maroney Fraser’s career: From senior assistant to SNL writer
Erin Maroney’s first job in the entertainment business was as a senior assistant to SNL creator and producer Lorne Michaels. She worked for Michaels for several years in different roles, including on Late Night with Conan O’Brien, Tommy Boy, and Wayne’s World 2.

Fraser got a job writing for SNL’s staff in 1995. Between 1995 and 1996, she worked on 18 episodes. During her time on the show, she was known as Erin Maroney. Quentin Tarantino, Jim Carrey, and Christopher Walken were some of the people who were on the show when Fraser worked on an episode.
Fraser was honoured on SNL’s most recent show, which aired on March 11. The late writer was remembered with a title card and a tweet from the show’s official Twitter account that said, “Rest in peace, Erin Maroney Fraser, SNL Writer (1995–1996).”

Erin Maroney is survived by her three kids, two of whom are students at Emory University, where she went to school. The Erin and Jay Fraser Scholarship Fund at Emory University is also being helped by the GoFundMe page that is set up for her children.

Just two weeks ago, SNL paid tribute to the late set designer Eugene Lee, who had worked on the show since its first year. Fraser’s death comes just two weeks after that. This year, several SNL cast members have died, and Fraser’s death is yet another loss for the show’s community.
