Cory Sandhagen was born on April 20, 1992 and raised in Aurora, Colorado. During his childhood, he attended Smoky Hill High School and played for his school’s basketball team during his teenage years.
In fact, the Colorado native has always been into sports his whole life. After graduating from high school, Cory attended the University of Colorado Boulder, where he graduated with a degree in psychology.
‘Sandman’ has quite a busy personal life out of the MMA too. The 30-year-old works part-time at a trauma center for children and also teaches mixed martial arts at High Altitude Martial Arts, in Aurora.
Cory appears to have a devout personality and frequently shares his opinions on social media about the same. During one of his interviews, he shared about his admiration for Hinduism and how he wished to visit India someday.
During a recent episode of UFC Journey, Cory revealed:
I don’t have a tonne of friends. I have 5 or 6 really close friends. and then I have my family and my fiancée and I have my sister.”

Erica Ueda is the fiancée of Cory Sandhagen and a Physiology graduate who initially began working as a recovery specialist back in 2016. She then worked as a Research and Development Director of Recovery Services at Resilience Code.
Ueda later obtained a Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology from Northern Colorado University. She has since been working as an Administrative Support with META MVMT Live.
Erica is very supportive of Cory both inside and outside the Octagon, although she doesn’t want him to continue fighting a decade from now. She is quite fond of the outdoors as seen on her social media where she posts pictures of her and Cory going on treks and hikes alongside their pet dog.

Cory and Erica are quite open about their relationship on social media. The UFC bantamweight fighter first met Erica Ueda back in the year 2018. The couple then officially started dating on October 17, 2018. Back in August 2021, Cory took their relationship to the next level as he proposed to his girlfriend Erica. He also posted a video of the engagement on his Instagram.
