Who is Emilio Nsue?
A professional football player for CF Intercity of the Primera Federación, Emilio Nsue López was born on September 30, 1989 in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. The 34-year-old stands 1.82 m (6 ft 0 in) tall.
A look at Emilio Nsue’s career
Nsue began his career at Mallorca and played in 153 competitive games across his four seasons in La Liga. Additionally, he was a loan player for Castellón and Real Sociedad. He joined Middlesbrough, an English team, in 2014, and contributed to their 2016 promotion to the Premier League.
After signing a contract in January 2017 with Birmingham City, Nsue moved into Cypriot football a year later. He played for APOEL for 18 months, Apollon Limassol for a season, and APOEL for another season. In 2022, he signed with Tuzla City of the Bosnian Premier League after going six months without a team.
Nsue made his senior international debut for Equatorial Guinea, in 2013. Two years later, he played for the same team at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations. Additionally, he led Equatorial Guinea in the postponed 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. After a hattrick against Guinea-Bissau on January 18, 2024, he became the first player to achieve a three goals in the Cup of Nations since Soufiane Alloudi in 2008.
Talking about his international career, due to his Equatoguinean father’s and Spanish mother’s birthplace, Nsue was qualified to represent both countries internationally. He began his playing career at the youth level for Spain, where he won European titles in both the under-19 and under-21 divisions in 2007 and 2011.
