Who is Andrew Tate’s father?
Andrew Tate’s father’s name is Emory Tate. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, United States on, born on December 27, 1958. Emory died at the age of 56 on October 7, 2015 after a sudden collapse during a chess tournament.
In the Off the Record podcast, Andrew mentioned that his father loved taking risks. He also said that he learned from his father that failure isn’t the end of the world.
Andrew also opened up about his father’s radical mindset being complemented by his mother.
Andrew started playing chess when he was 5-year-old and beat a 15-year-old and won the Indiana State Championship. As per his statement, that 15-year-old cried after losing the game and it made him happy.
Later in a newspaper clip, there was a photo of Andrew playing chess against a team of fifth graders.

Emory Tate is also an international chess master. He had a peak FIDE rating of 2413 and a peak USCF rating of 2499.
In the 1980s, his father was enlisted in the Air force, from where he developed his chess skills. Later, in October 2006, his father was the 72nd highest-rated player in the United States.
During his time at the Air force, Emory won the U.S Armed Forces Championship 5 times.
During his service in the Air force, Emory was promoted to senior airman, sergeant, and staff sergeant respectively.
In an interview, an editor of The Chess Drum, Dr. Daaim Shabazz, said that Tate was a ‘swashbuckling Tactician’. After his death, Shabazz told Chess.com that Emory was a special and generous player.
As per his US chess profile, Since 1991, Emory had played over 600 tournaments. As per his son, Andrew, Emory wasn’t materialistic. He didn’t need a house, car or garden to feel at home.
According to Andrew, his father was a genius. In an interview, a chess teacher, NM Craig Jones said that Emory was the most charismatic and entertaining player in America’s chess history.
According to a fellow player, Jacqueline Guglielmi, Emory Tate never cheated but was rightly arrogant.

Andrew Tate’s father death
Emory Tate died at the age of 56, on October 17, 2015. Chirila was seated with a view of the restrooms on Saturday. During the first round, he said that Tate came out of his restroom and mumbled “Call 911”.
And immediately after that, he collapsed and fell onto the ground. As per Chirila, he didn’t sense anything wrong with Tate in the first 2 rounds but as the tournament resumed, he was merely “Pushing the pieces”.
After he collapsed, other players tried to give him first aid meanwhile the chess director, Abel Talamantez phoned for help. Following his death, Andrew posted multiple posts on social media as a tribute to his late father.
In one of his FB posts, he said that his father was the smartest man he’s ever met. He also said that some people called his father crazy but his father understood him and he turned him into a brilliant person.
While Emory’s net worth isn’t know, Andrew claims his is $250 million with him also talking about having an IQ in the 120-130 reigion.
