John Calipari’s wife is Ellen Calipari. They got married on June 22, 1986. They have three kids: two daughters named Erin and Megan, and a son named Brad. Ellen is quite active on social media, especially on Instagram where she shares stuff about her family and events.
John and Ellen have a sweet relationship, even after 37 years of marriage. In 2024, she is 37 years old. Ellen has been like a mom not only to their kids but also to John’s players. Coach Cal mentioned this in a message he wrote for her on their 37th anniversary.
Prior to meeting and marrying John, Ellen Higgins was married to former NFL player Nolan Cromwell.
After her separation from Cromwell, Ellen worked at the University of Kansas and while she was working as a secretary in the Kansas athletics office, Higgins met Jayhawks’ assistant coach, John.
Ellen is from rural Missouri, Lake of the Ozarks country and grew up in the town of 900 people, Osceola and there were only 40 in her graduating class. She is now a homemaker. Her daughter Erin is a neuroscientist researching addiction at Vanderbilt, and Megan is a successful pastry chef.

About John Calipari
John Calipari served as head coach at various institutions including the University of Massachusetts, NBA’s New Jersey Nets, and the University of Memphis. He also coached the Dominican Republic national team. Calipari led teams to Final Fours, notably with Kentucky in 2011, 2012, 2014, and 2015.
Despite some appearances being vacated, he was cleared of wrongdoing. With 808 wins as of February 17, 2024, Calipari ranks 12th among NCAA Division I coaches in career wins.
