During that time she was active on her social media and started publishing her music work online. She used ‘Soundcloud’ as a platform for her music and also shared it on ‘Instagram’ as a small video clips. Social media helped her to get noticed by many artists. She released her first EP, ‘Time’ with the label ‘10 Summers Records‘ back in 2016. ‘Boo’d Up’, which was the single of her third EP completely changed her life. ‘Boo’d Up’ song became very popular in 2018s, the song peaked in the fifth spot on the ‘Billboard Hot 100’ chart. During the same year, she was also nominated for an ‘MTV Video Music Award’. The success of ‘Boo’d Up’ suddenly uplifted Ella’s music career.
She released her debut album ‘Ella Mai’ in October 2018. The album was released through 10 Summers and Interscope Records. The album includes the singles ‘’Boo’d Up’’ and ‘’Trip’’. The executive producer was Dj mustard. The album also features the special appearance of Chrish Brown and John Legend.

Ella Mai was born on November 3, 1994, in London, England. She was born to a Jamaican mother and an Irish Father. Ella’s mother was a an educator by profession. Ella’s mother’s job was based on frequently moving places. At the age of 12, Ella had to move to New York where her mother got transferred. During her childhood days, Ella was not much into music instead loved playing soccer. She developed an interest in music only after her graduation.
