Collins became an expert at sideswiping and even kissing bumpers with a police cruiser during the roughly 40-mile chase. The chase started after Oak Brook officers recognized Collins’ vehicle and connected it to other events.

Ebonie Collins caught the attention of Oak Brook police earlier this month when she drove carelessly from Oak Brook to the Dan Ryan Expressway. Fox 32 Chicago reports that she was able to elude arrest for some time by sideswiping vehicles and even colliding with a police car.
Officers employed a police helicopter and license plate readers to follow her movements. Because of safety concerns, authorities chose not to employ GPS dart technology despite the heavy pursuit.
Collins stopped on the Dan Ryan Expressway and attempted to escape on foot, which put an end to the pursuit. Officers, however, swiftly captured her. Collins is charged with several offenses, including as speeding, driving an uninsured vehicle, and aggravated escape. Additionally, she has a criminal record that goes back to 2017.
When officers started making jokes and flirting with Collins, the arrest took an unexpected turn. They were seen smiling and telling her, “You’re like a race car driver,” in bodycam footage that was shared on Instagram.
