A man assaulted Dutch traveller and YouTuber Pedro Mota while he was filming his vlog in Bengaluru’s Chickpet neighbourhood. But in the area’s crowded shopping streets, the YouTuber managed to get away from the accuser.

The YouTuber in Bengaluru published his vlog on Sunday in which he described his terrifying encounter in the capital of Karnataka. He stated in the video’s description, “Exploring the area in Bengaluru started out on the wrong foot as an angry man attacked me by grabbing and twisting my hand and arm, lunging after me as I tried to escape.”

In the video, a man who appeared to be a shopkeeper stopped the YouTuber while he was filming the vlog with his camera and asked him, “Ye Kya Hai?” (What is this?). The YouTuber further gripped the accused’s hand and attempted to steal his camera while he begged, “Please let me go, sir.”

Pedro, who had managed to flee the situation, said in the video that the man had attempted to break his finger. On social media, the video has gone viral and is pleading with the Bengaluru police to prosecute the suspect.

Bengaluru Police have detained the suspect.

According to news agency ANI, Bengaluru police detained the suspect who was shown in the video abusing Pedro Mota. According to Laxman B Nimbargi, deputy commissioner of police for Bengaluru (West), the person in the video has been identified as Navab Hayath Sharif, and a case has been filed against him in accordance with Karnataka Police Act Section 92.

A South Korean YouTuber was allegedly harassed by two men in December of last year as she was live streaming on a street in Mumbai. An FIR was filed under section 354 of the Indian Penal Code after the incident’s viral video led to the arrest of two individuals, Mobeen Chand Mohammad Shaikh and Mohammad Naqeeb Sadrealam Ansari, by the Mumbai Police. The Korean YouTuber was then promised complete protection by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs.
