Higgins was then given an explanation by Silvano of a law requiring him to be detained for a minimum of 72 hours prior to being granted another hearing. Due to the approaching Memorial Day weekend, the hearing has been rescheduled for Thursday.

Throughout the judge’s account of Sean M. Higgins’ two-count charge of second-degree vehicular manslaughter, the defendant remained silent.

The Woodstown resident Sean M. Higgins was seen wearing a dark green jacket with velcro shoulders and his wrist was wrapped with a bandage.

Higgins was represented in court by Cody Dooley who is a public defender but there was no family present to offer support. Higgins informed the judge that he intended to proceed by hiring a private attorney of his own. The judge instructed Higgins to approach other inmates for assistance or contact any relatives or friends who might be able to aid.
