Dr. Sandip Mishra of the Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), who is credited with creating the first medication for breast cancer, passed away in Bhubaneswar under suspicious circumstances.
The body of Dr. Sandip Mishra was found in his Satyanagar neighbourhood in Bhubaneswar. Despite his family members’ hasty hospital admission, the physicians pronounced him deceased. For an autopsy, his body has been brought to the Capital Hospital.

Since it’s not known exactly what caused Mishra’s death, police have opened an investigation. The family members have not filed a formal complaint. Mishra’s family says he died of a heart attack after contracting food sickness from fried chicken.
According to family members of the deceased, the 56 year old scientist felt uneasy on Saturday evening following which he was rushed to the Capital Hospital and the doctors immediately administered him some injections and medicines but the scientist died moments later.
However, the police have registered a case of unnatural death and started an investigation into the death of the scientist who lived with his wife and son in the Satyanagar area of the city. The doctor’s sister lives in the USA.
According to Rajlakshmi Ray, the sister-in-law of Dr. Sandeep Kumar Mishra, Dr. Sandeep Mishra ate fried chicken in the afternoon after which he was taken to the Capital Hospital in the afternoon.

“Dr Mishra had suffered some indigestion and later underwent treatment at a hospital. He went to the washroom and complained of shortness of breath. Later, we rushed to hospital where he was declared dead by doctor,” a family member revealed.
In 2002, Dr. Sandip Mishra asserted that physicians may control the spread and metastasis of br*ast cancer by adjusting GPR141. G-Protein Coupled Receptors is the abbreviation for GPRs. With over two percent of all the genes encoded in the human genome, the GPRs are the biggest family of cell surface receptors.
It is obvious that deregulated GPR signalling facilitates the growth, survival, and metastasis of tumor cells in a variety of cancer types, including breast cancer. The orphan molecule GPR141’s molecular mechanism in the progression of breast cancer is still unknown, nevertheless.
He suggested that altering GPR141 would open the door to a more effective therapeutic strategy for controlling the spread and metastasis of breast cancer. This will be a great help to the global field of br*ast cancer research, resulting in a novel and effective treatment approach.
The discovery made by Dr. Mishra was also published in a number of renowned scientific journals published by the Nature Group.
According to sources, the late scientist suffered from trauma following allegations of “harassment” made by an ILS researcher.
Before joining ILS Bhubaneswar, Sandip was an instructor at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston and also received an award in basic science research during his tenure there.
