According to authorities, the aircraft appeared to have encountered difficulties shortly after takeoff before erupting into flames.

Essex Police, on July 14, confirmed that Dr. Mathias Eyl, 46, was one of the victims that tragically passed away in the fatal Southend plane crash. Dr. Eyl was on board the Beechcraft B200 Super King Air medical transport plane before it went down within the airport boundaries. Besides Dr. Eyl, the casualties included two Dutch pilots and a Chilean nurse. According to reports, the plane had just dropped off a patient and it was headed back to the Netherlands when the crash occurred. Authorities are currently investigating the cause, and they have closed down the Southend Airport for now.
Maria Fernanda Rojas Ortiz was a 31-year-old nurse who had recently transitioned from hospital nursing to working with a private medical aviation firm and died in the plane crash. According to her friends and family, Maria was a cheerful, compassionate, and passionate caregiver. Her life was tragically cut short just as she was starting out a new chapter in her professional career.
The identities of the two Dutch pilots is yet to be revealed.
