Chiu is married businesswoman and philanthropist Christine Chiu in early 2006. They have only one child, named Gabriel Chiu III, who was conceived via in vitro fertilization in 2018. For his first birthday, the Chius donated over $1 million to the Cayton Children’s Museum in Santa Monica.
Chiu earned his degree from the University of California, Berkeley for his undergraduate degree where he majored in Microbiology and Immunology. He further received his degree of Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at Western University of the Health Sciences in Pomona, California.

Gabriel Chiu finished his residency at the Detroit Riverview Hospital. In the following year, he went on to become Chief Resident, General Surgery, at Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital. Later on, after one year, he continued to enroll himself at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine where he was a Fellow, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon for two years before becoming the Chief Fellow in 2002.
Chiu was one of the first employee at his wife’s plastic surgery practice. His clinic is called Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery and it is situated in the city of Los Angeles. His clinic has more than 35,000 patients.
The Chiu family commits 50% of every net dollar back into their community.
