Rick Carlisle recently broke his silence over the alarming injury of Aaron Nesmith.
In Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Sunday, following the Indiana Pacers’ 106-100 defeat to the New York Knicks, Rick Carlisle gave an update on Aaron Nesmith’s injuries.

While attempting to transfer the ball to a teammate halfway through the third quarter, Nesmith sprained his ankle. But as he was leaving the game to head to the locker room, he turned his right ankle. Eventually, with seven minutes remaining in the game, he came back.
According to Tony East who is the team’s writer, Carlisle shared his opinions about Nesmith’s performance post the game.
Rick Carlisle has been serving as the head coach of the Indiana Pacers since May 2025. He has coached the Dallas Mavericks and Detroit Pistons in the past. Before rejoining the Pacers, Carlisle spent 13 years as a coach for the Dallas Mavericks, one of the longest tenures in NBA history. Carlisle has served as head coach of the Pacers on several occasions. Carlisle served as the Pacers’ assistant coach from 1997 to 2000 before departing in 2001 to 2003 to take a head coaching position with the Detroit Pistons.
In 2004, he rejoined the Pacers to take over as head coach, and he played for the team for four seasons. He is one of the eleven NBA players and coaches to earn a ring.

During his five-season career as a player, Carlisle represented four different teams. The Boston Celtics selected Rick with the 70th overall choice in the NBA’s 1984 Draft. Carlisle earned his first and only championship while playing with Larry Bird in his second season. Carlisle later spent a season with the New York Knicks and a season with the New Jersey Nets before joining the Albany Patroons in the CBA.
Donna Nobile is the wife of Rick Carlisle. Together, the couple has a daughter. Donna Nobile specializes on infectious diseases in children and has been in the healthcare industry for over 30 years.
Donna Nobile attended George Town School of Medicine and pursued a career as a doctor after she completed her residency at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia from 1992-95, specializing in pediatrics, and is currently working at Riley Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born in 1966, Donna currently resides in Indianapolis and the couple met when Carlisle was still playing in the NBA, and Donna is often seen by his side at games and press conferences.
According to ESPN, Donna Nobile and Rick Carlisle tied the knot on September 16, 2000. Abby Carlisle who was born in 2004 is the only child of Rick Carlisle and his wife, Donna Nobile, whom he met while playing.
While Donna’s net worth isn’t known, her husband, age 65 Rick is paid $7.25 million annually at the Pacers and has a net worth of $8 million.
