Indian politician and former government worker CV The Indian Administrative Service was where Ananda Bose worked. He has worked as a civil servant, an expert on housing, an author, and a public speaker.
Was Secretary to the Government of India, Chief Secretary, and Vice Chancellor of a university. He was on the UN Habitat Governing Council and is now the Chairman of the Habitat Alliance, which has consultative status with the UN.
He has spoken for India at the European Council for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Geneva and at the International Fusion Energy Organization (ITER) in France. Bose was in charge of the Atomic Energy Education Society. Four times, the UN has chosen one of his projects as a “Global Best Practice.” He got an award from the Indian government called the National (Special) Habitat award.
He led the Supreme Court committee that looked into the treasures of the “Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple.” Bose has written 32 books in English, Malayalam, and Hindi. These books are a mix of novels, short stories, poems, and essays.
When Bose joined the IAS in 1977, he had the chance to make changes to good governance that would make sure people got public services quickly and well. He started the Nirmithi Kendra (Building Center) in 1985 when he was the district collector of Kollam. It is now a national network and part of the government’s housing policy.
Bose was named after Subhash Chandra Bose by his father Vasudevan Nair who fought alongside Netaji. Although he’s a Malayali, he and others among his seven siblings have a Bengali surname and was born to freedom fighter late P K Vasudevan Nair and C Padmavathy Amma at Mannanam in Kottayam district. He holds a PhD from BITS Pilani.
