Donell Mbele was charged with two charges of r*pe and appeared in the Randburg Magistrates Court on Monday after the 17-year-old ex-partner of Donell filed the charges. He appeared in court with a cast on one of his legs and crutches in hand.
Donell was given R1000 bail, NPA spokesperson Phindi Mjonondwana informed the media. On February 10, he will appear in court again.

In them, she accused Donell whose name she later removed of “r*ping” her on 14 and 15 December.
Tamia claims that she and Donell had recently gone public with their six-month relationship, but the alleged incident took place only days later.
She shared: “I asked him to stop, and he didnt. I repeated myself multiple times and even started crying. …I remember another incident where he just got on top of me, pinned me down, and forced himself on me.”
Donell Mbele gained notoriety in late 2022 when his ex-girlfriend, Reokeditswe Makete, claimed that he had assaulted her and wanted to “kill” and “r*pe” her.
The young woman posted screenshots of messages that she claimed he sent her, along with pictures of her wounds.
In response to the accusations, actor and producer Sonia Mbele, Donell’s mother, issued a statement denouncing her son’s behaviour.
A part of it read: “Donell will face his demons, take accountability for his actions, and let the law take its course.

Investigation
The cases against him were filed at the Sandton police station by his 17-year-old girlfriend, according to National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Phindi Mjonondwane. The incidents allegedly occurred at his Morningside home on December 14 and 15, following their date at the Clearwater Mall in Roodepoort.
“After consuming some beverages and upon realising that the restaurant they were seated at was about to close, they both agreed to move to a different venue,” Mjonondwane explained.
“She said the accused allegedly indicated that he wanted them to pass by his place of residence as he needed to charge his phone. On arrival, that’s when the incidents allegedly occurred.”
The former Generations actor also opened up about being with a man who was physically, psychologically and emotionally abusive toward her from age 17 to 26, adding that her son would face his demons and take accountability for his actions and let the law take its course.
