Dr. Salvador Plasencia MD is an internist in Calabasas, California and popularly known as โDr. Pโ, of Santa Monica. He is a renowned doctor, and has over 14 years of working experience in the medical field. He is currently 42-years-old and he is affiliated with the Los Robles Regional Medical Center. Plasencia is currently making headlines after he was accused of injecting deceased actor Matthew Perry with ketamine. He also allegedly showed Perryโs assistant how to inject ketamine and left ketamine and syringes with him for future use.

Dr. Salvador Plasencia charged with Matthew Perryโs death
A US Attorney named Martin Estrada recently announced the charges against the five accused of Matthew Perryโs death on Thursday. According to Estrada:
These defendants took advantage of Mr. Perryโs addiction issues to enrich themselves. They knew what they were doing was wrong.โ
Among the five defendants: Jasveen Sangha and Dr. Salvador Plasencia are charged with one count of conspiracy to distribute ketamine. Sangha also received other multiple charges in connection with the crime. Meanwhile, Plasencia is also charged with seven counts of distribution of ketamine. He also received two counts of altering and falsifying documents or records related to the federal investigation. The other three defendants are: Eric Fleming, Kenneth Iwamasa, and Dr. Mark Chavez.
Dr. Salvador Plasenciaโs alleged role in Matthew Perryโs death
American actor Matthew Perry passed away in October following to a ketamine overdose. He had reportedly received several injections of ketamine on the day he died from his live-in personal assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa. According to the recent indictment, Plasencia first learned about Perryโs interest in obtaining ketamine in late September 2023.
Plasencia eventually contacted another doctor Chavez, who previously operated a ketamine clinic, in order to obtain ketamine. Throughout September and October of 2023, Plasencia distributed ketamine to Perry and Iwamasa without a legitimate medical purpose at least seven times. Moreover, he taught Iwamasa how to inject Perry with ketamine, and left vials of ketamine with Iwamasa for self-administration.

Despite knowing that Iwamasa had never received medical training for administering or treating patients with controlled substances Plasencia still went through with it. According to the indictment, Dr. Salvador Plasencia also conspired with Chavez about inventory, price, and availability of ketamine to sell to Perry and Iwamasa. Plasencia sold the fatal ketamine to Iwamasa which caused Perryโs death, despite having the information at least one week ahead, that Perryโs ketamine addiction was spiralling out of control.
