Haider Ali, the distinguished Pakistani athlete who placed third in the discus throw at the Paris 2024 Paralympics, was honoured with a lavish celebration held at the Pakistani Embassy in Paris.
According to a press statement released on Sunday, Haider Ali’s triumph secures his place as one of Pakistan’s most renowned athletes and earns him his fourth Paralympic medal. Arshad Nadeem won the gold medal in the javelin throw at the Paris Olympics 2024, while Haider Ali won the bronze in the discus throw at the Paris Paralympics 2024.
Both effectively represented Pakistan at the massive stadium and motivated Pakistanis and fans around the world to reach the podium with tenacity and diligence.

39-year-old Haider Ali was born on 12 December 1984 to a businessman named Sadiq Ali. He is 1.8m tall. Haider attended University College Lahore.
Sports officials first noticed Haider Ali’s athletic ability in 2005 at a training camp in Faisalabad. Haider Ali was born with cerebral palsy and has weakness in the calf muscle of his right leg, which presents a physical challenge for him.
Ali got specialized training in track and field events, such as long jump, discus throw, high jump, 100-meter, and 200-meter sprints, after being classified by Dr. Rabab.
His ability blossomed, and he made a triumphant international debut in Kuala Lumpur at the 2006 FESPIC Games, taking home one gold and three silver medals. Ali has had Coach Akbar Ali Mughal as a constant in his career since 2006, helping him reach his greatest potential.
Haider Ali career
At the 2008 Summer Paralympics, Haider Ali competed in the men’s F-37/38 Category long jump and won a silver medal with a distance of 6.44 meters. Ali won a bronze in the 100-meter T38 event and a gold in the long jump F37 at the 2010 Guangzhou Games.
In 2018, he took home two gold medals from the F37 Discus Throw and the F37/38 Javelin Throw, along with a bronze from the T37/38 Long Jump. He has only yet to receive a medal from an Olympics; he was reportedly plagued by a hamstring issue in London 2012.
With a throw of 55.26 meters in the discus throw to win the F37 event at the 2020 Summer Paralympics, Haider Ali on September 3, 2021, achieved the first-ever gold medal for Pakistan in Paralympic history. At the Paris Paralympic Games in 2024, Haider Ali earned a bronze medal in the men’s discus throw F37 with the throw of the season.
