A well-known Businessman named Dinesh Arora is accused of a scam that has been implemented in the Delhi liquor excise policy of session 2021 – 2022 and is all set to turn in a state witness in the case.
Dinesh Arora moved to court on Monday, 7.11.22 with a request to pardon him. The CBI branch has learned to inform the court that it has no objection to Arora turning an approver. The court will hear the whole matter on the 14th of November as the statement of Dinesh Arora has been recorded before a magistrate under the 164 section of CrPC as per media reports.

Dinesh Arora Case
A few days ago the court granted anticipatory bail to Arora after the branch of CBI did not oppose his plea. While not opposing Arora’s bail, CBI officials have reported that the applicant has disclosed the transaction of ill-gotten money through channels/ operators by the persons accused in the FIR. He has also announced the role of the public servants in the secret plan in which few undue favors were got extended by them to the other accused persons.

In the FIR which got registered on the 17th of August, the CBI had alleged that Businessman Dinesh Arora and other accused in the case were associates of the Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodiya. He was actively involved in managing and diverting all the money collected from liquor licenses. The expert agency had stated that Sameer Mahendru who is another liquor businessman had transferred an amount of INR 1 crore to Radha industries which Arora also managed.
Arora moved the latest application under the 306 section of the Crpc told the court of special judge. MK nagpal stated, ‘he wants a Pardon in his case and that he was ready to voluntarily make a true and full disclosure of all the facts stating to the case without any pressure, coercion or undue influence by the CBI.’
Arora’s lawyer, advocate RK Thakur, also stated to the court, ‘the CBI has in its reply supported his client’s plea for turning a witness in the case as he was too much cooperative during all the investigation.’ Later, Thakur also requested the court for in-camera proceedings should be done, saying that it was a sensitive matter. The In-camera proceedings are those do not allow any other except the people involved or related in the case.
