The adorable bicolor, bipedal Brittany Spaniel, Dexter is from Ouray, Colorado. He has become a sort of local celebrity in the past few years. He leaves people in awe with his unique skill.
People have also started coming to Colorado just to see Dexter walk!
Kentee Pasek is the owner of Dexter. She told that Dexter did not learn to walk on two legs as a trick. The dog started to walk like a human being after witnessing a near-death experience.
How Did Dexter Learn To Walk On Two Legs
She revealed that Dexter started using his two legs to walk after getting in a car accident in 2016.
When Dexter was still a puppy, he ran out of the backyard, to the street and got hit by a car.
This accident cost the bipedal Brittany Spaniel one of his front legs, while the other one got severely injured. After getting medical and walking aid, he adapted to walking on two legs.
Dexter receives routine checkups from the veterinarian and adapts different mobility methods from time to time. He is also capable of walking up the stairs using two legs.
Dexter – An Inspiration
The dog receives hundreds of letters every month from fans across the world. The fans claim that he has been an inspiration and a ray of light to them during difficult times.
On being interviewed by CBS, Dexter’s owner, Pasek read out one of the cards. The card read, “I am recovering from intensive radiation treatments for breast cancer and you certainly bring joy to my day.”
Pasek further commented on her dog’s determination and said, “Dexter shows us, why aren’t you out there writing the book you want to write? Why aren’t you out there doing the things you want to do? Because he has.”
