The Grand National 2023 was held on Saturday, and the favourite, Corach Rambler, won in a very exciting end, know who is the jockey Derek Fox
Protesters got on the Aintree course track, which slowed down the event.
Rambler was the 8-1 favourite at the start, and an Irish rider named Derek Fox was on his back. In a nail-biting finish, the horse handled by Lucinda Russell beat Vanillier (2nd), Gaillard Du Mesnil (3rd), and last year’s winner Noble Yeats (4th).
From Riding Welsh Ponies to helping Corach Rambler winning the Grand National: The inspiring story of Jockey Derek Fox
Fans of Derek Fox are not surprised by how well he did, since he won the Grand National in 2017 on One For Arthur. In 2021 and 2022, he also won the Sefton Novice Hurdle and the Mildmay Novice Chase.
The road Fox took to become a successful jockey is what makes his story even more inspiring. Fox was 14 when she was told she had dyslexia. Because of this, she had to quit school. He had trouble reading and writing, but he never gave up on his dream of becoming a rider.

Fox used to ride a Welsh pony named Reggie when he was young. He and a few of his friends would get on the bus to go to school, but then they would get off at the next stop and ride bareback across the pitch for the rest of the day. Fox said, “I never made a decision to ride racehorses; it was just something I assumed I was going to do.”
Corach’s Victory is historic win for Jockey Derek Fox and Trainer Lucinda Russell
Fox said of Corach Rambler in an interview with ITV after the race, “He is just a phenomenal horse. I can’t believe it. He normally gets his head up a wee bit, but today he traveled everywhere.” Continued “He is the cleverest horse. He is so intelligent.”

In the end, the Grand National 2023 will be known for its exciting finish and the inspiring story of jockey Derek Fox, who overcame dyslexia to become a successful jockey and win the race for the second time.
