During the 2023 World Juniors, Canada will be led by a new head coach. Hockey Canada confirmed earlier this autumn that the Everett Silvertips’ Dennis Williams is going to serve as the U20 junior team’s head coach.

The 43-year-old Williams takes the position of Dave Cameron, who in his sole competition with the junior club this past summer assisted Canada in winning the gold medal. Considering the fact that Williams was a member of Cameron’s team as an assistant coach for the 2022 competition, he’s not an entirely new face.

Who Is Dennis Williams?
Dennis Williams is a former hockey player and a present coach of Canada’s hockey team. He has been in the news because he recently become the new head coach of the Canada hockey team.
He was born in Stratford, Ontario, Canada, on August 14, 1979. He was a student at Bowling Green State University.
He is currently 43 years old.
His Career
From 1994 to 1997, Dennis Williams was a member of his hometown team, the Stratford Cullitons. He played hockey at Bowling Green State University in the National Collegiate Athletic Association after spending three full seasons with Stratford (NCAA). He was a Bowling Green player from 1997 until 2001.
Up to 2002, he also participated in senior hockey for the Cambridge Hornets and Odessa Jackalopes. In the 2002–03 season, he went back to Bowling Green as a graduate assistant. He worked as an assistant at Utica College the following year.
From 2004 until 2007, he served as head coach at Neumann College. In 2010, he accepted the position of head coach with the Amarillo Bulls of the North American Hockey League. Williams led the USHL’s Bloomington Thunder in 2014.
Dennis Williams has been the Everett Silvertips team’s head coach since 2017. Prior to the 2020–21 season, he was given the promotion to general manager and coach.
At the U17 World Hockey Challenge in the 2018–19 season, he made his inaugural appearance with Canada’s national teams while leading Canada Black. At the Hlinka Gretzky Cup the following year, he served as Canada’s U18 team’s assistant.
During the 2020–21 season, he was not a member of any of the teams, but he was appointed as Cameron’s staff assistant on the U20 squad for the 2022 World Juniors.
