Deepak Yadav, who is the father of rising tennis star Radhika Yadav, confessed to killing his own daughter on Thursday, around 10:30 am. He revealed how he fired five rounds at his daughter Radhika while she was preparing breakfast. Three of the bullets struck her in the back as neighbors and family members rushed to the scene. Radhika was eventually declared dead at Asia Maringo Hospital shortly after.

According to his confession, Deepak used a licensed .32 bore revolver to commit the crime and he is now currently in police custody. According to preliminary reports, Deepak told investigators that he had grown resentful of her financial independence and online presence.
Details given by the police on the murder of tennis player Radhika Yadav have revealed that Deepak Yadav invested Rs 2 crore so she could open an academy, and was taunted by several people.
Deepak told the police that the criticism he faced had hurt his pride and that he had been battling depression for the past 15 days and he was also not in favour of Radhika running a tennis academy. He wanted her to shut down the academy, but she refused with Deepak further miffed by a social media reel uploaded by his daughter.
Radhika Yadav had also appeared in a music video last year alongside an independent artist, and this may have caused tensions within her household.
The music video, titled “KARWAAN”, was produced by Zeeshan Ahmad and released in 2024 under the LLF Records label and it featured Radhika Yadav alongside artist INAAM in multiple scenes.
Manju Yadav, Radhika’s mother refused to give her statement to the police, and claimed she had fever and did not see anything.
