Just a few days before the start of the Paris Olympics, a video footage showing equestrian Charlotte Dujardin whipping her horse has gone viral. Following the shocking incident, the six-time Olympic medallist was banned from equestrian. Moreover, the clip has led to further accusations that Charlotte whipped the animal on its legs more than 24 times.
Meanwhile, Dujardin’s fiancé Dean Wyatt-Golding told reporters that the allegations had ‘all come out of the blue’. He further added:
I can’t say anything beyond Charlotte’s statement. All we can do is wait and see what happens.’

Golding, 45, runs a Gloucestershire-based construction firm specialising in equestrian building.
Dujardin and Golding first met in Durban, South Africa, back in 2007, before eventually getting engaged a year later. Dean’s father owned a pub in a nearby Cotswolds village, and first met through legendary dressage trainer and Olympian Carl Hester.
However, just five years later, the pair broke up after London 2012 after Charlotte’s rapid rise to fame. Notably, she admitted that she ‘probably wasn’t easy to be around’ as she was going through a lot of stress back then. Especially because Carl proposed her to sell her beloved horse, Valegro (Blueberry) who, she rode to Olympic triumph.
Charlotte stated:
Dean found the media side of things really difficult — that and not being able to see me so much because I was travelling abroad a lot competing. ‘He said, “the media know more about you than I do”.
The pair eventually got back together again shortly before becoming engaged again in 2016. Golding did an iconic display of love during the Rio Olympics in Brazil, where he wore a shirt with the words, ‘Can we get married?’.
However, by July 2020, Golding and Dujardin parted ways once again with the Tokyo Games approaching. However, the pair soon reconciled once more, despite Charlotte’s claims that she had moved on from him. The couple eventually had their first child named Isabella Rose, who is now one.
While Dean’s net worth isn’t known, Charlotte has a net worth between $16-39 million.
