Swati Maliwal is a well-known Indian activist. She has been in the news because she revealed that her father sexually abused her when she was a child.
She was born on October 15, 1984, in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. Her father is an ex-army officer, whereas her mother is a chemistry teacher.
Swati Maliwal did her schooling at Amity International School. Afterward, she graduated from the JSS Academy of Technical Education with a bachelor’s degree in information technology.
She was married to Aam Aadmi Party leader Naveen Jaihind. However, they divorced in February 2020.

Her career
Swati Maliwal obtained employment with an MNC before leaving to join “Parivartan,” an NGO. Later, she emerged as a key figure in the Anna Hazare and Arvind Kejriwal-led Indian Against Corruption campaign. Maliwal served as the Chief Minister of Delhi’s advisor on public complaints before joining DCW.
She was named the Chairman of the Delhi Commission for Women in 2015, following the election of Arvind Kejriwal to office. In July 2018, her contract was renewed for another three years. She is the newest commissioner for women in the position.
In July 2018, Swati Maliwal received a three-year extension on her contract. She has served as the commissioner for women at the youngest age.
