Have a look at the bio, family, wife and net worth of David Mulugheta
Tuesday seemed like a good day to bring the circus back in full force because the Dallas Cowboys find it difficult to spend days without any drama surrounding the team.
Cowboys’ owner Jerry Jones had a chance to speak into a mic during the NFL annual meetings that were taking place in Florida. Choas unfolded as Jerry opened his mouth, as is always the case.
The Cowboys have agreed on “big aspects” of a contract extension for Micah Parsons, according to Jerry Jones. He then openly insulted David Mulugheta, Parsons’ agent. Parsons clapped back by praising Mulugheta because he did not enjoy the disrespect.
Who is David Mulugheta, agent of Micah Parsons, bio, age, family, wife, children, education, clients list, salary and net worth
“There is no one I trust more when it comes to negotiating contracts than David!” Parsons tweeted, hitting back at Cowboys owner Jerry Jones’ claim he didn’t even know Mulugheta’s name.
Mulugheta reps some of the league’s brightest stars, from Deshaun Watson to Jalen Ramsey, and now he’s got Parsons’ back as the 25-year-old phenom angles for a blockbuster extension and with Parsons’ fifth-year option locked at $24 million for 2025, Mulugheta’s the key to landing what could be the richest non-quarterback deal in NFL history.

Mulugheta has a knack for nailing massive contracts including Watson’s $230 million fully guaranteed haul with the Browns or Ramsey’s $100 million pact with the Rams.
Dallas, Texas, is where David Mulugheta was born in born 1982. His parents are immigrants from Eritrea. In addition to being a taxi driver, his father also worked at a gas station. He went to the University of Nebraska College of Law and the University of Texas in Austin.
David excelled in baseball, throwing 70-mph pitches by age 12 and playing in high school before going to Texas A&M, where he enrolled and studied engineering.
Mulugheta then enrolled at the University of Texas in 2001 to pursue a business degree. He graduated from law school in 2010 and joined Athletes First full time in 2011 and has become one of the top agents ͏in football, wit͏h a net ͏wo͏rt͏h of ͏over $͏50 million.
Mulugheta has quickly established himself as one of the most influential agents in the NFL and has 42 players on his books and has bagged just under 25 million dollars in commission from current contracts alone. As well as Watson, Mulugheta handles negotiations for top-class players such as Jalen Ramsey, Michael Thomas, Micah Parsons and Budda Baker.
The player’s agent, a native of Dallas with a strong academic background from a prominent state university and further legal studies in Nebraska, has built a reputation as one of the sport’s leading contract advisors and starting his journey as an intern before transitioning to a certified role, he now represents an impressive roster of talents that include not only the highlighted defensive star but several key figures in the sport.
David has three kids with his wife Chonra. Jalen Ramsey is the godfather of one of his three sons. His children are Dallas, 10, Davin, 8, and DJ, 11.
Mulugheta is the son of Eritrean immigrants and has an elder brother named Minab as well along with a younger sister and brother as well. Their parents were born in Eritrean villages with no electricity and homes built from clay and the couple met in Rome after fleeing the east African country to escape civil war. Their father migrated to the United States first and Minab, who was 4 years old, and his mother soon followed.
They settled in a one-bedroom apartment near Dallas, where their father worked 16-hour days as a taxi driver and as a clerk at a 7-Eleven store while their mom worked as a housekeeper.
David Mulugheta career
In 2010, David Mulugheta met agent Andrew Kessler and started working as an intern at Athletes First. Mulugheta joined Athletes First as an agent after earning his NFLPA certified contract adviser certification in 2012. Mulugheta has since represented other All-Pro and Pro Bowl players.
In 2020, Forbes ranked 42-year-old Mulugheta sixth among agents in all sports and named him the world’s top NFL agent (in terms of negotiated deals and commissions).

Jerry Jones made waves when he claimed he didn’t even know the name of Parsons’ agent and that he wasn’t concerned about him. Parsons jumped to Mulugheta’s defense right away.
According to a different story, Parsons requested that Jerry and Stephen Jones get in touch with Mulugheta regarding a contract extension, but that hasn’t happened yet.
David Mulugheta has been in contact with Adam Prasifka, the Cowboys’ director of salary cap and player contracts.
Although it will be intriguing to watch how everything develops, some people are taken aback by today’s soundbites and Parsons’ comments. Hopefully, before things become ugly, everyone can get together and quickly work out a deal.
Here's Jerry Jones saying Micah Parsons' agent isn't a factor in negotiations—even going as far as to say he doesn't know his agent's name.
Parsons is repped by David Mulugheta, one of the most well-known and recognizable NFL agents.
