American media outlet Bloomberg News broke the news about the lawsuit explaining how the CEO reportedly bragged to his subordinates that he was the only one in the group to have had oral sex the previous night.

The Shocking Lawsuit Against Goldman Sachs And CEO David Solomon

A former Goldman Sachs partner who claimed that the investment bank fostered a sexist atmosphere put forward the lawsuit. The claim also mentioned about Solomon’s sexist brag that allegedly happened soon after he took over the firm in 2018.

Bloomberg claimed that at least three Goldman Sachs executives either overheard Solomon’s alleged statement or learned about it later. The claimed event is apparently of note since Solomon was being very much out of character.

The lawsuit further claims that Goldman Sachs allegedly paid women less than men did for performing the same work. It also brought to light that the business overlooked crude and vulgar statements from senior-level personnel. This claim turned out to be the main point of the lawsuit instead of Solomon’s remark.

Bloomberg further claimed that Goldman Sachs allegedly paid “well over” $12 million to the female executive to keep the whole issue under wraps. It further claimed that the payment was probably the biggest compensation of its sort.

Goldman Sachs Speaks Out Against Bloomberg’s Report

Following the claims from Bloomberg, Kathy Ruemmler, General Counsel at Goldman Sachs in made a response to the report.

She stated:

Bloomberg’s reporting contains factual errors, and we dispute this story. Anyone who works with David knows his respect for women, and his long record of creating an inclusive and supportive environment for women.

Goldman Sachs Facing Harsh Sexist Claims

The lawsuit apparently also accused other senior officials of making critical statements about women. Steven Strongin, who is the former director of investment research, is also among one of the officials accused.

The major investment firm reportedly wanted to settle quickly in order to promote its ongoing initiatives to increase more diversity among its higher ranks. The report further revealed that the partner has moved on to work for another business ever since the lawsuit. She has reportedly never brought to light her accusations in public and Bloomberg have chose not to reveal her identity.

David Solomon Brief Bio And Career History

David Michael Solomon is an American investment banker born in 1962. Solomon has served as CEO of Goldman Sachs since October 1, 2018 and also as its chairman since January 2019.

Besides those roles, Solomon was previously the president and chief operational officer from January 2017 to September 2018. He also served as joint head of the investment banking division for most of his career at Goldman Sachs from July 2006 to December 2016.

Notably, Solomon produces electronic dance music (EDM) tracks under the moniker David Solomon during his spare time. He also goes went by the name DJ D-Sol previously. He has famously played across different venues and music events in New York, Miami and other cities.

David Solomon’s total compensation for 2021 was $35 million with his net worth at $100 million. Mary Solomon was the wife of Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon with them divorcing in 2018.
