How did David DePape end up in jail? Where is David DePape now?
At the moment, DePape is being imprisoned on attempted murder charges in the San Francisco County Jail in California. He pleaded “not guilty.” In addition to kidnapping, DePape is also charged with attempted murder and elder abuse. The 23rd of February is when he is next due in court.
Amber Lee of KTVU was the first to approach him after his arrest last year. A total of around five and a half minutes were devoted to conversation. He would not let the journalist challenge his assertions or ask questions. DePape claimed he didn’t want to compromise his legal standing.
In October, DePape, 42, allegedly attacked Paul Pelosi, 82, with a hammer in the San Francisco house he shares with his wife, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who was in Washington, D.C. at the time of the incident. After the altercation, Paul Pelosi needed immediate surgery to repair his cracked skull.
David grew up in Powell River, British Columbia, Canada and his twin sister Joanne Robinson lives in New Zealand while he is the stepson of Gene DePape.
WHO OPENED THE DOOR???
Paul Pelosi has both hands occupied.
David DePape certainly didn't open the door.
So did a third party open the door then exit right down the hall?
You tell me! pic.twitter.com/9La33E5spl

U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) surveillance footage shows DePape breaking and entering Pelosi’s home. The USCP was tasked with protecting the former speaker. Fox News was told by anonymous sources that USCP agents were not monitoring the live camera feed during the time that DePape allegedly struck Paul Pelosi.
David DePape was waiting for Nancy Pelosi
An audio recording of Paul Pelosi’s 911 call revealed that DePape had entered the Pelosi residence and announced that he was waiting for Nancy Pelosi. To the dismay of the dispatcher, Pelosi informed them that he was not familiar with DePape.
Video from police body cameras shows cops arriving at the Pelosi residence about 2:30 a.m., just before the alleged assault. Paul Pelosi and DePape were there to welcome them when they arrived. Both of them were clutching what seemed to be hammers. The entire interaction with the police took little more than 15 seconds. The footage indicates that after DePape was told by police to put down the hammer, he resisted and struck Paul Pelosi in the head before he was dragged to the ground.
DePape later told investigators that he had planned to kidnap Nancy Pelosi and interrogate her over the Democratic Party’s treatment of former President Trump. Police questioning recordings revealed that he told officers he planned to shatter her kneecaps if she had lied.
