The other cop falsely cites this law too!

Police experts review and speak out about the arrest
Following the issue, various police experts have reviewed and spoken out about the arrest. Andrew J. Scott, who is a former Boca Raton Police Chief, reviewed the police body camera footage of Hill’s detainment. Following the review, he spoke out on Tuesday in support of the Danny Torres and the other officers. He stated that if Tyreek Hill complied with the officer’s initial request, the whole matter could have ended in just 10 minutes.
Scott shared various details of the incident that seemed potentially dangerous situation to him. He stated how Tyreek Hill was not visible, not following commands, and he was in a 5000-pound vehicle with which he could speed away.
However, Neill Franklin, who is the former Commissioner of the Baltimore City Police Department and Maryland State Police Department veteran, claimed that the Miami-Dade police officers “escalated” the incident. He stated:
When they were trying to get him to sit down and he says he just had surgery on his knee, one officer responds, saying something to the effect of ‘What a coincidence. Did you just have surgery on your ears?’ You know, talking about him not listening to them right away.”
He further added:
This is appalling, and this is one of the main problems we have in policing today – that police officers are not following their training. They’re not using de-escalation techniques that they’re trained in, and in this particular case, as I said before, they actually escalated the situation.”
When body cams don’t stop the power trip, you know the problem is systemic.
If this is how they treat millionaire NFL player Tyreek Hill with the whole world watching, what do you think happens to regular people when no one’s looking?
They didn’t de-escalate, they instigated.… pic.twitter.com/wBApKR7Hjt
